Taina is an 8-year-old Indian girl who lives with her grandfather, the aged and wise Tige, in the breath-taking Amazon. Through Tige, Taina learns the legends and history of her people and develops a great intimacy with the forest and animals. After her grandpa passes away, Taina carries on the mission to protect the Amazon. She makes friends with animals including a baby monkey whom she names Cuta, and frightens animal poachers who relentlessly pursue her and her protégés. In the end, Taina and her animals are saved thanks to her incredible courage, wit and the blessing of her grandfather’s spirit.
