Montreal
(March 10, 2011) ---- On the Sly (a pas de loup), the Belgian/French pic helmed by Olivier Ringer, swept the just-concluded Montreal International Children's Film Festival by bagging three prizes: the Family Place Prize with 2,000$ cash for Best Film in the Official Competition section from the Children's Jury, Special Jury Prize from the International Professional Jury and the INIS Prize for its "Innovation and Originality".
Olivier who was in Montreal to receive the prizes was obviously very pleased with the three nods: "It's a verdict given not only by adults but also by children. That means a lot to me. I wanted to make a movie that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, as the film deals with the communication issue between children and their parents."
The film is a charming leap into the mind of a child that offers rewards for kids and adults alike" according to Jay Weissberg, Variety.
On the Sly had its world premiere as part of the official competition lineup of Berlinale Generation and is already invited to a number of international festivals. World sales are handled by Canada based Delphis Films.
